Dr Andrew Bowkett is a zoologist and conservation project manager who has worked with partners in South-east Asia and Afria for over twenty years. Based at Paignton Zoo for the Wild Planet Trust for most of that time, Andrew initiated several projects to conserve endangered antelope, primates and amphibians in remote rainforests. Through many expeditions and discoveries, this talk will highlight how the initial focus on species proved a powerful mechanism to work with local communities and protect whole landscapes.
