Support us

Newton Abbot Museum thrives thanks to the support of its community. From volunteering and donations to becoming a Friend or buying from the shop, there are many ways to contribute to our work.

Support Newton Abbot Museum

Whether you can give your time, share your skills, or support us financially, every contribution helps us care for the collection, run exhibitions, and keep the museum free for everyone to enjoy.

Volunteer with us

Our team of volunteers plays a vital role in everything we do – from welcoming visitors to supporting family workshops and helping behind the scenes. We offer a variety of roles with flexible time commitments, and we’re always keen to hear from new people.

If you’re 18 or over, you can apply using our volunteer form. If you're under 18, or looking for a short-term placement or Duke of Edinburgh opportunity, we’d still love to hear from you.

Become a Friend of the Museum

Join our Friends programme to stay connected and support the museum throughout the year. Membership includes free entry to local history talks, a regular newsletter, and invitations to exhibition previews – all for just £12 annually.

Your membership directly supports our exhibitions, outreach work, and care of the collection.

Make a donation

As a free museum, donations are essential to our work. Whether you're contributing financially or gifting an object, your support helps us preserve Newton Abbot’s heritage for future generations.

We’re not currently accepting new object donations, but you can still support our collection through monetary gifts – online or in person. All donations go directly into the Newton Abbot Museum Support Fund.

Shop with us

Purchases from our museum shop help support our work. We stock a range of books, cards, gifts and local history items – some of which are also available online. Every sale helps us care for the collection and run community programmes.
